Answers to the questions most frequently asked

This page is updated regularly. However, if you can't find an answer to your question in the sections below, please contact us.

Maths Hubs

You can find your local Maths Hub on our Find your hub page. This allows you to see the regions and local authorities covered by the 40 hubs across England, and to find out which hub serves your school. You can also search using your school’s name, postcode or URN (unique reference number).

If you can’t find your local hub using your school’s name in the search tool, try using the school’s postcode (including the space) or URN. Remember that only state-funded schools in England can work with their local Maths Hub.

The Maths Hubs website used to be separate from the NCETM website, but now everything you need can be found in one place. Information that was at mathshubs.org.uk can now be found in the Maths Hubs section of this website.

We offer three newsletters: the National newsletter, the Primary Round-up and the Secondary Round-up. Go to the bottom of any web page on this site, enter your email address, select the newsletter(s) you would like to receive, and simply wait for them to arrive in your inbox!

All our mailings include links at the bottom where you can update your preferences.

All our mailings include an ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the email.

Personal information

If you are subscribed to any of our mailings, we hold the email address you gave when you subscribed. We hold no other personal data in relation to your use of this website. Any other data captured via cookies and analytics tools contains no information by which you may be identified.

Content from the previous website

Not all of the content that was on the previous website has been transferred to the new website. We took on board user feedback to make the new website more streamlined and easier to use and navigate. We have kept up-to-date and popular content, and you will be able to find that on the new website. Try using the search function in the top right corner if you cannot find what you want by navigating from the main menu items.

Previous Round-ups and National newsletters are available in the News & Features section. Select ‘Newsletter’ in the tabs at the top of the section. Previous magazines are archived as pdfs and are available: Primary, Secondary.

The Self-evaluation Tool wasn't carried over from our old website. However, we do have a pair of new Subject Knowledge Audits - one for primary, and one for secondary. You also might like to try using the Mastery Professional Development Materials to assess your subject knowledge instead.

This page is no longer available on the website. However, you can find the same information on the NCETM’s Q&C Twitter account @NCETMQandC.

The NCETM website no longer lists specific CPD providers or events. However, a wide range of CPD activities are available through your local Maths Hub. Find your hub and visit its website to discover what is on offer.

If anything on the website isn’t quite right, please let us know. Email info@ncetm.org.uk with details of the page and what isn’t right, and we will try to fix it.

Communities and online Personal Learning Space

All communities that existed on the previous website have now been shut down. Discussions and documents in the communities are no longer available. See ‘I want to start/join an online community’ for details of an alternative to the NCETM communities.

If you want to collaborate online with other professionals with whom you were previously in a community, or those with whom you are in a Work Group or other CPD activity, you may wish to use Basecamp (www.basecamp.com). Contact a member of the NCETM team on info@ncetm.org.uk for more information.

There is no longer a requirement to log in to the NCETM website to access content. All content and resources are available to anyone visiting the website.

As the requirement to log in to the website has now gone, there is no longer a Personal Learning Space. Any information and resources you may have stored in the area previously have now been removed. If you have any questions, please email info@ncetm.org.uk.
